Atlantika is a telefantasya produced by GMA Network about the fictional undersea kingdom of Atlantika. The series premiered on October 3, 2006. A behind-the-scenes introductory special, Atlantika: Ang Lihim ng Karagatan (Atlantika: The Secret of the Seas), was aired on October 1, 2006. The series' tagline is "Two different worlds. One eternal love."
Atlantika opens with the tale of three lovers: Haring Agat (Gardo Versoza), Reyna Celebes (Jean Garcia) and Barracud (Ariel Rivera). Their love triangle sparks a war that divides the underwater domain and pushes Barracud to the dark side. Aquano the Senturyon (Dingdong Dantes) must fulfill his duty of saving Atlantika by searching for the two lost princesses of the kingdom. One of them will be the woman destined for him while the other must be defeated before she destroys Atlantika itself.
With four princess-possible candidates to choose from, Cielo (Iza Calzado), Alona (Isabel Oli), Helena (Katrina Halili) and Elisa (Valerie Concepcion) Aquano asks the help of the most skillful Senturyon in Atlantika, Camaro (Rudy Fernandez), to train him for the fight of his life.
Later on, Aquano found out that Amaya (the one he needs to kill) was Cielo, whom he was deeply in love with. Ruana (the one he needs to marry) is Helena, who also has feelings to Aquano. His heart became his weakness because of her love for Amaya, and this was used by Barracud against him.
There was a development in the run of Atlantika's story. Long time ago, Reyna Celebes' twin, Celeste, was sent out of Atlantika because she was believed to put Atlantika in great danger when the right time comes. Alona, who was mistakened to be known as Amaya before, was Celeste's daughter. Alona gained more importance to Atlantika because she is the only one that can counter Celeste, who turns out to be the new dark ruler of Atlantika, after she succeeds in getting the whole power of Polaris and in stealing the royal throne from Barracud. Now, the side of Aquano and Baraccud must do something against Celeste, whether they should unite or stay apart in doing this.
